Hippie: Carpentier Kitchen Surabaya

WE REALLY NEED MORE PLACES LIKE THIS. SERIOUSLY.

Considering all those fancy-artsy yet inconvenient tables, integrated fashun distro and the menu, this restaurant-cafe is a hipster ones. I always like a place like this, they are really up to today's lifestyle. The location of this place is also prime, it's located near to Kartini area in the heart of Surabaya. This area is so full of cafes, restaurants, Artotel and other places that will fulfill your lifestyle needs.

Let's go to the foods

1. Virginia Cheese Wedges (22k) (Score 8/10) This dish is so pretty, I mean look at those color of potato wedges, minced leafs, chili and cheese. The taste is another surprise, it's kind of spicy but not so much and salty and little bit sweet. This tastes pretty quirky in my mouth for a few seconds, but after a few bites it feels really good. I can really imagine the virginian spice swings inside my mouth and give me that breeze sensation. Really nice.

2. Fettucine Cream Sauce a la Carpentier (42k) (Score 8/10) Everything sounds a bit hipster and this one is no exception. Cream sauce a la Carpentier, what kind of cream sauce that might be. Hmm this tastes quite similar to carbonara but saltier and quirkier. Guess everythins is a little bit quirky around here hahah. The pasta is my favourite part, it's pretty chewy and so called al dente. The portion is quite big for such a meal in hipster cafe, love this.

3. Chocolate Pancake With Nuttella (34k) (Score 8.5/10) Having had been quite full after two dishes, I still have this chocolate pancake. I'm surprised that this pancake feels so light given that look of thick nuttella layer on it. The pancake itself tastes light, thin and sweet but not very sweet. Usually I don't really like sweet foods, but it's my favourite from this place, this is surprisingly light and very good, so chocolate but not too sugary.
