Late Night Dinner at Rawon Kalkulator Surabaya

Good news is, trains from Solo need only 4 hours to reach Surabaya. When you can't go in the morning, you'll end up going with afternoon trains (4pm and 5.25pm ones). You'll also end up feeling hungry when you arrive in Surabaya late in the night (various around 10pm). Gladly Surabaya is known for their late night culinary like sego sambel, pecel, soto madura etc.

Last weekend I went to Surabaya yeay. I was arriving at 10pm and was feeling hungry, no problemo, I know exactly where to head to. It's Rawon Kalkulator at Taman Bungkul.

If you happen to know Taman Bungkul, this rawon is just walking-distance from there. This place is known for its crowd and of course, scrumptious rawon! The crowd is so reasonable, I mean the food is really good here. They don't only have rawon here but also soto jerohan, but their rawon is way more famous.

1. Rawon (20k) (Score: 8.5/10) I have tried another trending rawon in this town, them both are always crowded, but I find this rawon kalkulator is not only trending and crowded but also very delicious. The taste is just precise for me, the meat is tender, the rice is enough. I think this food is mind blowing, with the popularity, they're still selling food with low price. That's a good thing to have.

2. Soto Jerohan (20k) (Score 6.5/10) Always droll when I see this dish, always. But don't be fooled by its look, I'm so sorry, this one is kind of tasteless. Its taste really doesn't equal the look, I mean the color is thick and it's fragrant. Jerohan in it looks so appetizing, yellow and tasty. But yeah, it's tasteless for me. Hint: It's not bad at all though.

This place is always crowded, but you'll also end up getting place and comfortable spot in their waroong. A must visit late night diner for me.
