Tio Ciu - Chinese Food Bang Sinyo Yogyakarta

Nggak heran banget waktu Go Gaga kesini, hampir setiap meja pasti pesen 1 porsi hotplate nya gitu loh! Hahah..

Waktu dipotong pake sendok, tekstur fuyung hay nya sendiri unik, malah berasa motong bakwan. Puas lah pokoknya :D

Lagi laper berat emang pas banget sih ke sini. Pilihan menu Chinese food nya cukup beragam, jadi tinggal pilih lagi pengen makan yang mana. Harganya juga mulai belasan ribu sampe dua puluhan saja, masih ramah lah buat kantong-kantong mahasiswa. Dan yang jelas rasanya enak :D

Thank God It's Chicken Fry Day Solo

Good job!

2. Chicken Bites with Sambel Cocol (15k) (8/10) Murah!

Bakmi Of The Town: Bakmi & Bajigur Kadin Yogyakarta

First of all, this place is the kind of place that local people would recommend you to visit. It's a famous culinary spot in town so you can obviously expect some crowd and queue.

Tonight I had a visit here, so crowded yet still got a table for me and my family. The service was fast enough, waitress straightly asked for foods we wanted once we got seated. The food was ready in no time, very good considering Bakmi Kadin was so crowded.

We actually had 3 different dishes here but I only tasted two of them ..

1. Bakmie Nyemek (21k) (Score 6.5/10) Actually this one is similar to the bakmie rebus in taste, texture and almost everything but this one comes with almost-no soup because that's what "nyemek" is.

Bakmie nyemek I ate was savoury, chicken, eggs, vegetables were given in nice amount. The bakmie itself was something wrong to me, it felt rather overcooked, the bakmie was too soft and too big in size. You know when you cook mee for too long it will swell anyway.. It was not perfect at all but also not bad at all. You may tell the waitress not to cook it for too long when you order this.

2. Bakmie Rebus/ Godhog (21k) (Score 7/10) HMM The soup was nice, I actually liked it. It was not too salty, the taste was jut right in the place.

But sorry I could find something like this in other places. I mean this Bakmie Kadin is a famous spot for eating, I believe I could expect something more from it laa.

Overall Bakmie Kadin is a safe place when you want to go for dinner with your family but when you see the crowd, just keep your expectation low coz it will work. Haha..

It looks scrumptious doesn't it? It does. But was I surprised? I was not. I felt like I coulnd't Go Gaga for it, it's a nice place to try considering the crowd but also it's not the best place to get bakmie foods in town.

Miss Bee Providore Bandung

This is a place you can't miss when you visit Bandung! I know there are many chic restaurants and cafes all aroun the town, but this place is magnificent.

I was so happy with this place. I'd rather  call the location as green area but still in the middle of city that's a plus. So when I came here, it was like nice temprature, nice building, design, price and almost everything. They have rabbits in their garden so you can play with it sometimes. They have almost everything for a place to have fun at.

I was quite full so I and a friend ordered cakes and some mocktails only..

1. Carrot Cake (29.5k) (Score 8.5/10) This looked to sweet, tasty and fatty hahaha. I couldn't held, my hands were shaking as I took this picture bellow. The texture of the cake was fair, it's soft and the cream was firm enough. I even liked those raisins and nuts topping, they were not too clackey and classy as ornaments. The cake was sweet, I could taste the carrot, a little bit salty which was yay for me.

2. Berry Good (29.5k) (Score 9/10) When the waitress came with this, I doubted its taste hahahah. It looked so pretty, I was afraid that the taste might not so pretty as well. Then I tried it and I liked it. I could tell there was some amounts of cheese cream, white chocolate topping and they were a nice blend. There was also surpice inside, there were berry slices!!! LOVE THIS CAKE. Truth is, I was not so full agfter finishing this cake and drank a glass of creamy drink.

The place was so soothing, they glass house space in case the main building is full. And the glass house space was really good, you would feel like you're sitting in outdoor area but you're still inside a room with descent air conditioner. The price was soooo moderate considering it's a fancy chic bistro.

A little tips for you: You can ask your taxy to wait you there, or call in advanced, because I waited so long for a taxi to pick me up from there.

One And Only In Town: Kakkk Ayam Geprek Surabaya

I have been favoriting ayam geprek all this time. If you don't know what it is, then ayam geprek is basically seasoned fried chicken which is destroyed (geprek) together with some amounts of chili (usually you can choose how many). Then when it looks messy enough, you'll just eat it with rice.

MMM YES IT'S GOOD

And a few months ago I was in Surabaya, just to wander, and in an afternoon I had a thought of ayam geprek. It must had been a while since I had eaten ayam geprek before. So I asked my friend if I could find one in Surabaya cause I had never heard of it there before. Thank God there was an ayam geprek stall near the hotel where I stayed.

I was startled as I knew the name of the stall was Kakkk Ayam Geprek then i was just, okay let's try.

1. Paket Nasi Ayam Geprek (15k) (Score 7/10) This stall has a weird name uh. That's just the first thought I had when I got in it hahahah. Gladly the second thought was, OMG THEIR AYAM GEPREK WAS KICKIN' IT. I asked for 15 chili hotness, and it was hot, spicy, savoury, the chicken was not too crispy. They also put some slices of cucumber and cabage, loved them as team.

When my friend asked me about it, I had to be honest, I had tried many ayam geprek in many stalls before and I told him, This one from Kakkk Ayam Geprek is not the best amongst all. At the end of the day it's still very good considering this is the only ayam geprek I could find in Surabaya.

If you're an avid lover of ayam geprek and spicy dishes, you'll understand why it's such a bliss to find Kakkk Ayam Geprek in Surabaya. This place is worth a try, especially if you live in Surabaya and have never tried ayam geprek before.

Mie Mapan Rungkut Surabaya

Months ago I visited Mie Mapan, at that time they had only one outlet located in Rungkut which was quite far from Surabaya city center. And since I heard a lot of its mindblowing reputation, I was going right away to find the place. Gladly I was going with my friend Intan who's Surabayan. Mie Mapan Rungkut's located in the middle of suburbs, not so hard to find but the road is quite small.

We had 2 dishes and some fries because we were planing to visit some other restaurants afterward.

1. Pangsit Mie Bakwan  (porsi biasa 16k porsi jumbo 22k) (Score 8.5/10)
First of all, I feel responsible to tell you that Mie Mapan has one of the best mee texture in my life. My friend ordered their basic pangsit mie bakwan, which looked just like yamie pangsit and bakso to me. The look didn't surprise me a lot. Then I tried it a couple of cut. HMMM the mee was so chewy, and savoury and tasty. The pangsit and bakwan were so so, but with that quality of mee. This place is the mother of mie ayam stall!

2. Mie Kare Ayam (23k) (Score 9/10)
Since my friend ordered the basic pangsit mie bakwan or the basic mie ayam for me, I decided to give a try on something a little bit unusual. I COULD REALLY GO GAGA FOR THIS! This mie kare ayam was so savoury with its curry broth, the chicken chop was given in a generous amount. And the price was so moderate. It was almost like eating good curry but with mie, I was very happy with this dish.

3. Siomay Goreng (8k/pc) (Score 7/10) The skin was crispy and a little bit too greasy. The fish dough inside was quite tasteless though I could still taste a thing. Surprisingly, it was good when eaten together with the mie. It got less greasy when i put it inside the broth for mie.

4. Bakwan Goreng (10k/3pcs) (Score 8/10) in Solo, we call it bakso goreng, but in Surabaya, bakwan goreng okay whatever. Hmm this tasted just like my favourite bakso goreng in Solo, I liked it a lot. One of the best side dishes when eating mie ayam. Not too greasy yet meaty and bouncy, loved it.

This is the right place for either breakfast, lunch or dinner. Mie Mapan's mie will fit your appetite everytime because they're just so good at it. Now that they have new-opened stall in Kartini, it's easier to reach by everyone. A must stop-by-spot in Surabaya.

X.O Cafe & Bistro Jogja

This new restaurant is located very very near to my favourite steak house in Jogja, R&B Steak. I love the location, it's in the middle of the city and they have quite space for parking lot. When in this restaurant, you can always choose whether you're in the mood for outdoor or indoor dining. The menu is intercontinental so you're at liberty to choose various kinds of foods.

I have to warn you, the service is not so good (yet). Well, I asked the waiter about the detail of some foods and he didn't know anything. Some foods were not available yet, why would they even open the restaurant? Meh. There was no water either in the sink or toilet, gross. But I have to admit that this restaurant has quite lovely and cozy design.

Get down to the food ..

1. Penang Kwetiau Siram Telur (36,8k) (Score 6/10) Why they would name it siram telur anyway? It's more like siram kuah capcay or siram tumis sayur and seafood. to me. I know the pictures in menu book are for ilustration only but this dish was so ugly compared to the ones in the menu. The taste is OK, like capcay or tumis sayur and seafood. But once again, the taste is not like siram telur at all.

2. Nasi Lemak Iga Sapi Sambal Hijau (40,8k) (Score 6/10) Nasi lemak is one of my favourite crossbreed food. It should have always been savoury with some delish side dishes. The rice is nice, but i don't like its iga sapi sambal hijau, it's quite spicy and savoury but just not good enough. I didn't touch the overcooked sunny side up. Overall I was not really happy with this dish.

3. Fish & Chips (39,8k) (Score 6/10) The fish was not well marinated, I guess and the chips was not crispy and salty enough. But hey I loved its tartar sauce. That's all.

4. Roti Tisu Dengan Keju (23,8k) (Score 7/10) Eerr this roti tisu was so letoy, it fell a few times so we tried to make it stand over and over again. The taste was something else, it's sweet and a little salty, and crispy. Haha finally I found something that I liked in this place.

Overall this new restaurant is still need a lot of improvements from service and foods itself. I really would love to see this restaurant become better and greater. With the reputation ans experiences, I believe X.O Group is not one to parade their failed product.

Paella Party At Gadjah Brasserie Jogja

Gadjah Brasserie has always been the talk of the town, it's a new small restaurant with various kind of foods and good vibes. They have pretty peculiar interior design, they have some floral confetti on the wall and big bohemian sofa on some corners. Nevertheless they have quite spacious and comfortable seats for visitors, it's a good thing considering this restaurant is small ones

Tonight I went there and had the special menu for ramadhan with some friends, Paella party yeay

1. Paella with ice tea/ tea (60k) (Score 6.5/10) With that price, this dish will fit until 4 persons or even more when you can eat moderately. Basically paella is an exotic spanish food, it's similar with fried rice but it has seafood broth. The taste should be rich and thick. This paella wass, to be honest,  plain tasteless. Surely there's a taste but it's just not enough. But you can always squeeze some lemon juice all over it to evoke some taste of the paella. This food is actually really lovely, I hope Gadjah Brasserie improves the taste of it.

Just like I told you above, I had a paella party. Well that's the beauty of eating paella, it's served fresh after cooked, on the wok. So you and you friends will just grab your part together from the same wok. It really indicates the togetherness in eating. You know, happiness is only real when you share it. I enjoyed my time anyway.
